NCSoft, in collaboration with Amazon Games, will officially launch its MMORPG "Throne and Liberty" on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series S|X on October 1.
Previously, "Throne and Liberty" underwent an open beta test on Steam, where it achieved impressive numbers, with a peak of 60,000 concurrent players on its first day. This performance outpaced many other titles in the same genre, positioning it as a strong contender to surpass "Lost Ark" as the most-played MMORPG on Steam.
However, the game's Korean server has experienced significant player attrition since early this year, leading to a challenging environment. The mandatory social features and the typical focus on GvG (guild vs. guild) and PvP (player vs. player) content characteristic of Korean MMORPGs can feel cumbersome, especially for players without a stable team. This could result in a subpar experience for those diving into the game alone.
As the global launch approaches, the community is eager to see how the game will adapt to its international audience and whether it can improve upon the issues seen in its Korean counterpart. With a potentially larger player base and improved systems, "Throne and Liberty" aims to carve out its place in the competitive MMORPG landscape.
