Quick Leveling Guide for the Three Main Plate Classes in Embers of Neltharion

Source:lootwow

Nov-07-2024

With World of Warcraft’s 20th Anniversary celebrations underway, there’s an impressive 85% experience boost, making this an ideal time to level new characters. However, if you're unfamiliar with certain classes, leveling can be challenging. Here’s a guide to help you efficiently level the three primary plate classes!

General Tips:

  1. Importance of Tank and Healer Roles: Tanks and healers are often more valued than DPS in dungeon groups. If you're unsure about your skills or don’t have heirlooms, you may want to avoid tanking or healing to prevent being removed from groups by other players.

  2. Fastest Leveling Method: The quickest way to level is by using the Timewalking dungeons. With the experience bonus, you could reach level 80 on an alt in a single afternoon. Don’t forget to activate any additional experience boosts for faster progress!

  3. Gearing: If you’re willing to spend gold, purchase heirloom gear to keep up with leveling. Alternatively, every ten levels, you can visit "Bobadom" at the Timewalking Celebration NPC to exchange for level-appropriate gear to prevent your character from falling behind.

Note on Talent Trees and Abilities: The suggested talent trees and abilities below are designed only for leveling purposes and may not be optimal at max level.

    Warrior

For leveling, choose the Fury specialization. Here’s a basic talent build up to level 70, with the Annihilator option in the Heroic Talent Tree afterward.

Fury Warrior Rotation:

  • Burst: When available, use skills in this order: Recklessness, Avatar, Thunder Clap, Odin’s Fury, and Bladestorm before resuming regular abilities.

  • Single Target Rotation: Use Rampage when it’s available. During downtime, rotate Bloodthirst and Raging Blow, and use Execute when it’s highlighted. If other abilities are on cooldown, use Whirlwind as a filler.

    • Common Rotation: Rampage > Raging Blow > Bloodthirst > Rampage…

  • AOE Rotation: Use the same abilities as single-target but intersperse Whirlwind to convert the next four single-target abilities into AOE.

    • Common Rotation: Whirlwind > Rampage > Raging Blow > Bloodthirst > Whirlwind > Rampage…

Core Strategy: Focus on generating and spending Rage to maximize damage with Rampage. For AOE scenarios, use Whirlwind to enhance single-target abilities, and focus on the largest enemy.

2. Paladin

For leveling, choose the Retribution specialization. Use the suggested leveling talent build up to level 70, with Highlord selected in the Heroic Talent Tree.

Retribution Paladin Rotation:

  • Burst: Use these abilities in sequence: Execution Sentence, Avenging Wrath, Ashbringer, Holy Resonance.

  • Single Target Rotation: Spend Holy Power with Templar’s Verdict or Final Verdict and generate Holy Power with Blade of Justice and Judgment. Before unlocking Expedition Strike, use Crusader Strike to gain Holy Power. Use Hammer of Wrath whenever it lights up.

    • Common Rotation: Blade of Justice > Judgment > Final Verdict > Judgment > Blade of Justice > Final Verdict…

  • AOE Rotation: In AOE situations, substitute Templar’s Verdict or Final Verdict with Divine Storm when you have Holy Power.

    • Common Rotation: Blade of Justice > Judgment > Divine Storm > Judgment > Blade of Justice > Divine Storm…

Core Strategy: Retribution Paladins can sustain a strong burst cycle every 30 seconds. Because of balanced ability damage, Retribution Paladins offer consistent performance, but achieving top DPS requires practice.

3. Death Knight (DK)

For leveling, choose the Frost specialization, using the leveling talent build up to level 70, with Knight of the Apocalypse chosen in the Heroic Talent Tree.

Frost Death Knight Rotation:

  • Burst: Use Abomination Limb, Empower Rune Weapon, Pillar of Frost, and Frostwyrm's Fury.

  • Single Target Rotation: Focus on the 1+1 rotation of Obliterate + Frost Strike. Start with Remorseless Winter, Death and Decay, and Howling Blast, then rotate between Obliterate and Frost Strike.

    • Common Rotation: Remorseless Winter > Death and Decay > Howling Blast > Obliterate > Frost Strike > Obliterate > Frost Strike…

  • AOE Rotation: Similar to single target but swap Frost Strike for Glacial Advance.

    • Common Rotation: Remorseless Winter > Death and Decay > Howling Blast > Obliterate > Glacial Advance > Obliterate > Glacial Advance…

Core Strategy: Pillar of Frost powers each burst phase every 45 seconds. Stay within Death and Decay during AOE situations to hit multiple targets with Obliterate, ensuring maximum damage output.
