Since the launch of the first season of Embers of Neltharion, players have been voicing numerous complaints about the difficulty of Mythic+ dungeons. Finally, Blizzard has responded to the pressure by implementing three key improvements: reducing the difficulty of obtaining endgame gear, lowering the overall difficulty of Mythic+ dungeons, and enhancing the buff effects of certain affixes.

1. Reduced Difficulty in Obtaining Endgame Gear

The first and most significant change, already live, directly addresses the challenges players faced due to the new Mythic+ affixes and difficulty scaling. Many players were struggling with progression, and to alleviate this, Blizzard introduced a hotfix that adjusts the acquisition of crests as follows:

• Runic Crests can now drop from Mythic+ dungeons as low as level 7.

• Gleaming Crests can be earned starting from level 8 Mythic+ dungeons.

After these changes, dungeons between levels 4 to 7 now drop Runic Crests, while Gleaming Crests can be obtained starting at level 8, with 12 crests rewarded for timed runs and 5 for untimed runs. Gleaming Crests allow players to upgrade their Heroic and Mythic gear to item levels 629 and 639, respectively. This significantly lowers the difficulty of obtaining high-level gear.

2. Mythic+ Affix Changes: Buffs and Reduced Enemy Strength

The second improvement, also implemented, revolves around enhancing the effects of the new Mythic+ affix "Sarathas' Bargain", which now extends the buff duration from 20 to 30 seconds.

Blizzard noted that they have been closely monitoring the impact of the "Sarathas' Bargain" affix and decided to strengthen it to improve player enjoyment. They plan to continue observing the effects of this change.

Additionally, the "Sarathas' Cunning" affix, which originally increased enemy health and damage by 20%, has been nerfed to a 10% increase.

Blizzard stated that this adjustment aims to reduce dungeon difficulty. By boosting the player's benefits from "Sarathas' Bargain" while simultaneously decreasing the impact of "Sarathas' Cunning" on enemies, players should be able to take on higher levels of Mythic+ dungeons with their current gear.

3. Upcoming Dungeon Nerfs: Necrotic Wake and Neltharus

Starting from the October 17 weekly maintenance, two specific Mythic+ dungeons will also receive targeted nerfs.

Necrotic Wake will see the following adjustments:

• Zolramus Gatekeeper: The periodic damage from Zolramus’ Fury will be reduced by 25%.

• Bone Magus: The contribution to the enemy forces counter will be increased by 20%.
