The free-to-play MMORPG Throne and Liberty, built on Unreal Engine 4, launched during the National Day holiday on October 2. After being live for just one week, Amazon Games, the publisher, has shared some impressive early data: in the first 7 days since launch, Throne and Liberty has attracted over 3 million players who have collectively logged over 24 million hours of gameplay, averaging 8 hours per player. The game has also performed well on Twitch, with over 11 million hours of watch time on the streaming platform.

In a recent interview with WCCF Tech, Daniel Lafuente, Globalization Design Manager at Amazon Games, revealed that the MMORPG is set to receive several updates soon. According to the official roadmap, November will bring the first major guild activities, including the inaugural tax delivery event and castle siege. Amazon Games also plans to introduce the 3v3 arena mode for its first season, and a two-star cooperative dungeon could also be on the way.

Christoph Hartmann, Vice President of Amazon Games, said in a statement: "Bringing Throne and Liberty to players around the world has been a monumental task for both our team and our friends at NCSOFT, and we are thrilled to see the results after players have joined the game. This is just the beginning, and we have a series of updates planned, including the upcoming castle siege."

This isn't Amazon Games' first foray into major game releases; New World and Lost Ark both set records at their launch. However, the player base of these games significantly declined over time, particularly New World, which faced criticism largely due to a lack of content.
