This guide will help you complete the seventh puzzle quest in World of Warcraft’s 20th Anniversary event quickly and efficiently. With this walkthrough, you’ll be able to finish the task and collect 5 Bronze Coins in under 10 minutes. Let's get started!
Step 1: "Toy in Trouble" Quest
Begin by accepting the new puzzle quest "Toy in Trouble" from our familiar NPC, Alix. Once you’ve got the quest, talk to Maru to start your journey.
Step 2: Toy Rescue Mission
After speaking with Maru, your next destination is near Iskaara in the Azure Span, where you’ll locate a character named Yenno. The coordinates for Yenno are (13.4, 48.9). If you completed Season 4 last season and have the teleport to "Thornfury Valley," use it to save time (the portal is only accessible at max level). If not, head to Valdrakken through the main city portal, then fly over to the Azure Span.
Step 3: Locating the Lost Toy
Travel to the Dragonscale Expedition camp on the Waking Shores, at (47.0, 83.5), where you’ll find a small note on a cart near an earth elemental. Click to read the note and gain further instructions.
Next, go to Maruukai in the Ohn’ahran Plains near (62, 37.5). Here, you’ll find a small mound of dirt containing a Toy Ball. Pick it up and return it to Yenno, which completes half of your quest progress.
Step 4: Return to the Main City for Faction-Specific Tasks
The next part of the quest differs depending on your faction—Alliance or Horde. Follow the instructions for your faction below:
Alliance Instructions
Head to Boralus, where you’ll visit "Katherine's Cat House" located at (54.0, 72.7). Inside, you’ll see a cat named Kenshi. Talk to Kenshi and choose the "Pet Kenshi" option.
Next, go to the large tree nearby at (42.1, 75.1) to retrieve a ball of yarn. Return this to Kenshi to complete the Alliance-specific task.
Horde Instructions
Go to Dazar’alor and find the Hall of Beasts, where you’ll locate a squirrel NPC named "Crazy Squirrel" at (56.2, 31.7). Interact with Crazy Squirrel and choose the dialogue option to play with it.
Head to a tree located at (56.2, 21.0) to pick up a toy, which you’ll return to Crazy Squirrel to complete the Horde-specific task.
Step 5: Completing the Quest
Return to the Anniversary Celebration area and speak with Maru to turn in the quest. Congratulations—you’ve completed Part 7 of the Anniversary Puzzle Quest and earned your reward!
Expanded Guide with Additional Tips and Context
The "Toy in Trouble" quest in the WoW 20th Anniversary event is the seventh part of a special puzzle series, offering players unique rewards and a trip down memory lane. Let’s dive a bit deeper into each step to maximize your time, resources, and in-game benefits.
Why Puzzle Quests?
Blizzard's WoW anniversary events are designed to celebrate the game’s rich history while offering a challenge to both new and veteran players. Puzzle quests like this one are fun and provide tangible in-game rewards such as Bronze Coins, used for various anniversary items. These quests also bring back nostalgic characters, locations, and lore that long-time players may recognize.
Optimizing Travel with Teleports
Travel efficiency is key for completing this quest quickly. If you have access to teleport portals from previous expansions, it can save you significant time. Players who did not complete previous season content can still use in-game transportation like flight paths or portals from their main city hub.
Collectibles and Achievements
Completing this quest and others in the series contributes to progress toward WoW's 20th Anniversary achievements. Here are some added tips to make your journey smoother and maximize your experience:
Check Your Inventory: As the quest involves collecting items like the Toy Ball and Yarn, make sure you have inventory space available to avoid any issues.
Stay Safe on the Path: While moving through areas like the Ohn’ahran Plains, avoid high-level mobs that could interrupt your quest completion. This is especially true if you’re lower-level, as these areas are inhabited by aggressive creatures.
Rewards and Their Significance
After completing each puzzle quest, you’ll receive Bronze Coins that can be exchanged for anniversary-themed items, including mounts, pets, and toys exclusive to the event. Completing the entire puzzle series yields additional rewards and helps you celebrate WoW’s legacy alongside other players.
